Babington House is an exclusive private members’ hotel and spa in Somerset housed in a Grade II listed early 18th century country house. This past year has seen an extensive programme of renovations including the creation of a traditional stone orangery in the grounds. Babington chose Drummonds’ products for the refurbishment of the Playroom, the most exclusive of its five individually named and designed bedrooms. A freestanding Spey bath with polished and lacquered exterior, bath plunger and classic feet sits directly behind the four-poster bed, ready for a luxurious soak at any moment. The bath is served by a set of Classic bath taps with Mull tap heads in nickel on an H-stand. Perhaps even more impressive is the shower cubicle, concealed inside a mirrored box. “The Playroom didn’t have a bathroom before so we created this fantastic mirrored shower, which is my favourite aspect of the whole room,” adds designer Charlie Luxton. Inside this luxury hotel shower cubicle lies the Brora high level cistern, a throne style high level loo seat and a Cam corner basin with classic Mull taps. Behind the beautiful historic appearance of the room lies the very latest technology – Sony LCD screens and wireless internet access. This perfect blend of traditional style and up-to-date technology fulfils all possible needs.
