Out photography is one of the most important factors to us and allows us to show how our products can look with a bit of help! We don’t try and do this all in house, and in fact it has taken us a few attempts to realize that there are other people out there who do this a lot better than us, so with this in mind we enlisted some help from a great stylist (Lyndsay McLeod) and photographer (Bill Batten). The brief was simple, we wanted to create three room sets with our Cast Iron baths being the hero of the shot and to show off three distinctly different styles.
The first was a town house feel. This was created with more of a minimal feel to the set, black floors and skirting bringing it together with double doors framing the shot. However the nod to something different was from the large image of the horse in water – again give something to stimulate and also a bit of relief from a standard bathroom shot. The products look great and we choose the Tay bath which seems to be a popular choice in most city houses.
The next shot was the country look. With panelling on the walls and black/ white flooring it seems to work perfectly. The plynth and sclupture on also emphasise this and adds to the character, especially with the image of heads in water behind. The Spey bath works best for this look, and the high level WC suite is a must. We love our Kinloch basin, with its curved front it looks stunning in this shot.
Lastly we wanted to create a loft apartment feel that stands out for our final shot, we wanted to get the look that some of our customers have recently achieved, which is a designed room space that does not slot into any style in particular. This worked perfectly with the concrete walls and floors and the large image of the diving person framed, but not mounted on the back. The products again – the Usk boat bath with a gloss red finish and the concealled Nene shower – all fitting perfectly into the set.
We hope to create more of these inspirations room sets going forward. We know some of the look is slightly fabricated and may not be possible to replicate 100% but it is not about that – it is to give inspiration to anyone out there looking to achieve something slightly different and hope this will help you with any project you have coming up.
